FULTON COUNTY, GA — Two Amazon Flex drivers are suing the company for $350 million after a customer shot them while making deliveries, according to reports.

Attorneys for the former drivers, Lawyer Denson and Eduardo Gutierrez, said Amazon didn't provide them with reflective safety vests or company vehicles, reported WAGA-TV.

In January, Keontae Guthridge shot the two men, leaving Denson paralyzed, according to the news station.

According to WXIA, Gutierrez and Denson arrived on the same day, a few minutes apart, to deliver packages at a home along Neal Street in northwest Atlanta around 7 p.m.

A lawsuit obtained by WXIA says that Gutierrez, of DeKalb County, approached the front door with the package. As he walked back to his vehicle he noticed a laser pointed at him and the customer fired five shots, hitting him in his stomach.

Denson arrived at the same home to deliver packages and was shot in his spinal cord. Denson has lost all feeling in his legs and is now paraplegic.

Civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump announced he and his co-counsel are representing DeKalb County resident Gutierrez and Fulton County resident Denson, reported WXIA-TV.

According to a police warrant obtained by WGCL-TV, Guthridge said he thought the drivers were burglars. He said he already had packages delivered to his house that day and had also been robbed two weeks prior.

Amazon shared the following statement Thursday with Patch:

"We're aware of this terrible incident, and express our deepest sympathies to the two drivers involved. In addition, we offer our support to them both and to law enforcement as they investigate these crimes."
