PVC banners of less than 100 microns thickness figure in the list of single-use plastic items that will be banned with effect from July 1, 2022. The other banned items include ear buds with plastic sticks, plastic sticks for balloons, plastic flags, candy sticks, ice cream sticks made of plastic, thermocol for decoration, plastic cutlery including spoons, glasses straws and plates; plastic cigarette packs, and plastic stirrers.

The ban applies to manufacture, import, stocking, distribution, sale and use of single use plastic items.
